U Type Waveguide Rotary Joint

The U-type Waveguide Rotary Joint, also referred to as a double-bend parallel waveguide rotary joint, integrates two internal 90° waveguide bends. Its input and output waveguides are arranged in parallel with opposite directions, forming a U-shaped outline, hence the name U-type joint.

Designed with a multi-layer broadband choke structure, it enables infinite 360° continuous rotation. Among the three mainstream waveguide rotary joint types, it delivers the widest operating bandwidth, covering nearly the full frequency range of the corresponding waveguide. It is specially engineered for broadband radar, multi-frequency communication and UWB feeding systems, meeting the stable signal transmission requirements under wideband rotating operating conditions.

Structural Layout

  • Port Configuration: The input and output waveguides are parallel and oppositely oriented, both perpendicular to the mechanical rotation spindle.
  • Internal Composition: Dual-side 90° rectangular-to-circular transitions, double-bend waveguide cavity, broadband composite choke rings, precision bearing assembly and sealed housing.
  • Mechanical Support: High-precision low-clearance bearings maintain rotational concentricity and suppress performance fluctuation caused by rotational runout.
