Flexible Seamless Waveguide

Flexible Seamless Waveguides are RF/millimetre-wave transmission components designed specifically for buffered connections between microwave equipment and feed lines. Featuring a structure that allows controlled bending while prohibiting torsion, they perfectly address the challenges posed by installation misalignment and dynamic stress, preventing electromagnetic performance degradation and structural damage.

Core Structure and Materials

  • Inner Conductor (Core): Interlocking metal segments reinforced by hermetic welding to prevent torsional deformation.
  • Material: Silver-plated brass.
  • Outer Sheath: Silicone rubber.
  • Interface Flanges: Standard WR series waveguide flanges fitted at both ends, made of nickel-plated brass.

Performance Characteristics

  • Assembly Error Compensation: The bendable flexible waveguide offers controlled flexibility, offsetting installation misalignment between rigid waveguides to avoid performance degradation caused by stress concentration.
  • Precision Pointing Adjustment: Supports controlled bending deformation, enabling fine-tuning of reflector or feed assembly alignment in applications such as satellite antennas.
  • Low Signal Attenuation: Excellent electrical performance with VSWR as low as 1.10:1–1.40:1, insertion loss down to 0.12 dB, and frequency coverage from 1.13 GHz to 50.1 GHz, ensuring high-quality signal transmission.
