Dual Ridge Twist Waveguide

Double-ridged twist waveguides feature an extremely wide bandwidth (2:1 ~ 4:1), with a single twist component capable of covering an entire octave.

The Double-Ridged Twist Waveguide shares the same core function as the rectangular twist waveguide: it rotates the electric field polarization plane by a specified angle (typically 90°) while keeping the propagation direction unchanged.
Double-ridged twist waveguides feature an extremely wide bandwidth (2:1 ~ 4:1), with a single twist component capable of covering an entire octave. For this reason, they are standard equipment in electronic warfare systems, wideband radars, UWB (Ultra-Wideband) applications, and test instrumentation.

Structural Features

  • The main body is a double-ridged waveguide with symmetric top and bottom ridges.
  • Smoothly twisted along the axial direction, with the ridges rotating in sync.
  • Both ends are fitted with standard double-ridged flanges (WRD series).
  • Key design requirements to ensure performance:
    • Symmetry of the ridges must be maintained.
    • The twist transition must be smooth.
    • The ridge gap must remain consistent without abrupt changes.
