Ultra-Wideband Double-Ridged Horn Antenna

The ultra-wideband double-ridged horn (UWB-DRGH) is a directional radiation antenna developed on the basis of conventional double-ridged horns.

The ultra-wideband double-ridged horn (UWB-DRGH) is a directional radiation antenna developed on the basis of conventional double-ridged horns. By adopting optimized ridge tapering design, improved feeding structure and innovative mechanical configuration, it achieves an ultra-high bandwidth ratio of 10:1~100:1. It covers mainstream frequency bands from 0.5–40 GHz and advanced versions up to 0.5–50 GHz, acting as a core antenna for EMC / anechoic chamber testing, ultra-wideband radar and broadband communication systems.

Structural Advantages

  • Double-Ridged Configuration

    Loading ridge conductors on the inner waveguide wall lowers the cutoff frequency of the dominant mode and raises the excitation frequency of higher-order modes, greatly extending the single-mode operating bandwidth.

  • Tapered Transition Structure

    Exponential or Bessel curve tapers are adopted between the waveguide section and horn section to realize continuous impedance optimization and smooth transition.

  • Compact Size

    The ridged design reduces the overall volume by 30%~50% compared with traditional horn antennas, facilitating system integration and installation.

Core Characteristics of UWB Double-Ridged Horn Antenna

  1. Ultra-wide frequency coverage;
  2. Stable high gain performance across the full broadband range;
  3. Low sidelobe level for high-efficiency signal radiation and transmission.
