Waveguide 90° Power Divider/Combiner

The Waveguide 90° Power Divider is a four-port passive microwave component based on the waveguide orthogonal coupling principle. It serves as a core unit for equal-amplitude quadrature power division and combination with a 90° phase difference in high-power systems.

The Waveguide 90° Power Divider is a four-port passive microwave component based on the waveguide orthogonal coupling principle. It serves as a core unit for equal-amplitude quadrature power division and combination with a 90° phase difference in high-power systems.
It is widely applied in scenarios requiring precise phase control. It splits a single input signal into two output signals with equal amplitude and a strict 90° phase offset. In reverse operation, it also combines two quadrature input signals into one unified output. It features high power handling capacity, low insertion loss, high port isolation and superior phase accuracy.

Working Principle

  • The waveguide 90° power divider operates in accordance with electromagnetic wave transmission and field coupling theory. By precisely designing the dimension parameters including waveguide width, height and transmission path length, as well as internal coupling structure layout, it achieves uniform power distribution between output ports and generates a stable 90° phase shift.
  • The overall structure mainly consists of an input waveguide, customized power distribution network and dual output waveguides. The specially engineered coupling and transition network is the core design to establish accurate quadrature phase difference, ensuring consistent amplitude balance and high isolation performance across the full operating frequency band.
