A waveguide E-plane tee consists of one section of standard flanged waveguide. Its vertical E-plane coupling arm is symmetrically arranged on the broad wall of the main waveguide.
A waveguide E-plane tee consists of one section of standard flanged waveguide. Its vertical E-plane coupling arm is symmetrically arranged on the broad wall of the main waveguide. This structural design enables the input power to be equally divided between two output ports with opposite phase characteristics.
Operating Principle
The operation of the waveguide E-plane tee is based on electromagnetic field distribution and coupling effect inside the waveguide. When electromagnetic waves propagate along the main waveguide and reach the E-plane branch, partial electromagnetic energy is coupled into the auxiliary arm. The signal power is evenly distributed to the two output ports with 180° phase difference.
Due to such inherent electrical characteristics, the E-plane tee is widely adopted for microwave power division, signal synthesis, impedance matching and balanced circuit design in RF and waveguide systems.
