RWG187-L

Rectangular Straight Waveguide

Ends: Fitted with standard flanges (CPR, UG, UBR, etc.)

Inner walls: Copper or aluminum; silver-plated for high-frequency applications

A rectangular straight waveguide section is simply a finite-length, straight rectangular waveguide with flanges at both ends — the most common “waveguide pipe” in engineering practice.

Structure & Materials

Structural Composition

  • Cross-section: Standard rectangular dimensions
  • Length: Various standard lengths (10 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 50 cm, 1 m, etc.)
  • Ends: Fitted with standard flanges (CPR, UG, UBR, etc.)
  • Inner walls: Copper or aluminum; silver-plated for high-frequency applications
  • Interior: Air dielectric; may be filled with dry nitrogen for moisture and breakdown protection

Transmission Modes

  • Supports TE and TM modes: Rectangular straight waveguides only transmit transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) waves.
  • Dominant mode: TE₁₀ mode: The primary and most widely used propagating mode in rectangular waveguides.
